Track and Field: 50 KM Walk, Relays & Javelin

The day started out very misty and overcast with a slight drizzle at 7:30 a.m.
for the start of the 50 kilometer Walk. You know that funny thing they do
where the athletes have to keep one foot on the ground at all times and sort
of waddle back and forth in a very comic way. Well anyway Korzeniowski
of Poland won the thing in just under 3 hours and 45 minutes after having walked
half way around Atlanta I suppose. More exciting for the fans in the Olympic Stadium
were the qualifying heats for the 400 and 1600 meter relays and the qualifying throws
for the Javelin.
